The Ordeal

Description

The Ordeal is a game based on a therapy for nightmare disorder. Using Imagery Rehearsal Therapy (IRT), the game can be use to treat patients suffering from nightmare disorder due to posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD).  IRT involves changing the ending to a remembered nightmare while awake so it’s no longer threatening. Patient then rehearse the new ending in his mind.  The game involves levels based on true nightmare stories. Patients while playing this game will be able to relate their remembered nightmare with different levels of the game and will imagine and rehearse a better ending.

Personal Finance Manager

Description

Spending money and keep tracking it has always been a problem for majority of us. We never really know where the money goes at the end of the month and we are left with empty pockets.  We design and implement an Android application that  enable users to track their expenses and income, helping them to control their expenses by tracking their expenses. 

We studied different existing  applications and  built an application that best fits the user's requirements.  A significant challenge was to design an interactive user interface that enable users to customize their lists.  Personal finance manager,  provides extensive flexibility, supports many easy to use features and can be among the best expense tracking application.

Peshawar Traffic App

Description

The basic aim of the android app is to aware civilians about traffic rules and regulations, violations list and fines, traffic education, road safety, driving rules and tips. Further, the app provides civilians easy access to online license application, information about emergency numbers, centers for challan deposit, and traffic signs. A distinguishing feature of the app is to enable wardens to verify the authenticity of  the license through the use of QR code in offline manner, i.e., no active internet connection is required for proving the authenticity any driving license.

Abstracting & Indexing Service

Description

This project is about designing a system for University of Engineering and  Technology Peshawar in which students can upload their theses (including BS,MS and PhD theses).  The documents are indexed, and users can search the uploaded document via rich graphical user interface. Search results are ranked based on the similarity of the search query with the text in the documents. The project is implemented in PHP and Apache Lucene.
